Gray Fox
Images 1 and 2 are of a Gray Fox photographed from a blind. The third is of a fox that relaxed and took a nap on a rock near our home one day. It seemed to have little fear of people, as long as they kept their distance! All from the Cuyamaca Mountains, California.
Red Fox
This fox was seen in a remote spot on the Denali Highway in Alaska in June of 2025. It may have been sitting on a patch of snow trying to get some relief from the relentless attention of Black Flies, which were very numerous in this area at this time. In the first image, several flies are visible. This fox also appeared to be molting its rich winter coat.
