Peninsular Bighorn Sheep
Rare but still observable fairly consistently in certain Southern California desert locales, the images below were taken near the entrance to Palm Canyon in the Anza Borrego Desert, where there is an artificial pond. The pond attracts sheep and many other desert creatures, especially in the driest months of the year. The last image, taken in early January, shows a ram inspecting a ewe (who had a lamb with here, but not visible in the photo). The other rams are "hopeful".
