Northern Rough-winged Swallow
This bird perched and sallied out repeatedly for insects at the San Joaquin River in Fresno, California.

Barn Swallow
These birds were photographed along the central Oregon coast in July. Birds were collecting mud at Otter Rock, presumably to use as nest building material, and in Depoe Bay, young birds lined up on a large rock on the beach waiting to be fed by their parents. These young birds could fly well, and did no at times.
