Baja California Chorus Frog
Formally known as the Pacific Treefrog. This is the frog responsible for the classic "ribit"-like call so commonly heard in movie soundtracks! Images 1 through 4 are of a large, likely female which may have been gravid, based on her girth and the fact that it was the rainy season in southern California (it was photographed at Dos Picos County Park, San Diego County, California in late January). Images 6 and 7 are of small frogs (immatures) photographed just after the first "winter" rainstorm of the season in November in the Cuyamaca Mountains, California. Image 5 is of an adult, also from the Cuyamaca Mountains.

California Treefrog
I have seen this species in decent numbers at water features in the Southern California deserts. Image 1 was taken at the Pupfish Pond at the Palm Canyon Trailhead in the Anza Borrego Desert State Park. Image 2 was taken in Coyote Canyon, Anza Borrego Desert State Park, California, in the springtime. Images 4 - 6 were taken in the Cuyamaca Mountains, California.
